National Service Scheme Unit I&II of  AJK College of Arts and Science, Coimbatore, in collaboration with Madurai Eye Center, recently organized a transformative Free Eye Check-up Camp on 7.09.2023, held in the heart of the Puthupathi Tribal village.

This initiative aimed to extend much-needed eye care services to the underprivileged. The event was particularly significant as AJK College is an NAAC-accredited institution with an A+ rating, ensuring the highest standards of quality.

The camp featured a meticulous three-stage eye test, identifying villagers with weak eyesight. To address their needs, custom-fitted spectacles were provided, tailored to their required lens prescriptions. Importantly, students and parents received comprehensive counseling on maintaining good eye health and the importance of regular spectacle usage.

Madurai Eye Center played a pivotal role by generously offering free spectacles and pledging to perform cataract surgeries for three individuals in the village. This collaborative effort left a lasting impact, benefiting numerous villagers and school students, and shedding light on the path to better eye health.

In summary, this remarkable event epitomizes the power of partnerships and underscores the significance of accessible eye care in underserved communities.
