AJK College of Arts and Science, Coimbatore (Autonomous), an A+ accredited institution by NAAC, excited to announce a Resin Art Workshop for B.Sc. Costume Design and Fashion (CDF) students on 17th October 2024 at the Fashion Designing Lab. This workshop, organized by the Department of Costume Design and Fashion in collaboration with the Designers Merge Club, aims to provide participants with hands-on experience in working with resin, a versatile medium used in various artistic projects.
The Resin Art Workshop aimed to introduce participants to the versatile world of resin crafting, focusing on the essential techniques for working with the medium. Students were taught safe resin handling practices, including how to mix, pour, and cure resin properly. The workshop encouraged creativity, with students experimenting with colour blending, embedding materials like glitter and stones, and using various tools such as heat guns and moulds to create unique effects. Resin art, known for its versatility, allowed participants to design everything from personalized jewellery to decorative home items.
The workshop proved to be a transformative experience for the students, equipping them with practical skills and fostering creative expression. By the end of the session, each participant had created a unique resin art piece, be it jewellery, coasters, or wall art. The hands-on learning not only enhanced their artistic abilities but also built their confidence in working with this exciting medium. Students gained expertise in colour theory, layering techniques, and working with pigments, which they could apply to future projects. This workshop also introduced many to resin art as a potential new hobby, offering a therapeutic and satisfying creative outlet.
The workshop received glowing feedback from participants. Many students expressed excitement about their new skills and enthusiasm for continuing their exploration of resin art.
