Blending tradition with modern digital expression, the Onam Reel Fest encourages participants to showcase the spirit of Onam through engaging and creative reels. From cultural moments to festive vibes, this competition provides a vibrant platform to express Onam celebrations in a fun, innovative way.

Competition Guidelines

Theme: Onam Celebration – bring in the nostalgic charm of Kerala with a touch of vintage aesthetics
Duration: Maximum 1 minute
Audience: Open to the public
Submission Method: Submit your entry online via Google Form and forward a copy of your video + screenshot to the given E-mail ID
Last Date: September 5th, 2025 – before 6:00 PM

Terms & Conditions

Tagging @ajkcas and @ajknursing is mandatory
If using music, narration, or dialogues – it should not be offensive
Use vertical video format (9:16), MP4 only
Ensure good lighting and clear visuals
Content must be closely associated with Onam
Audio and video editing is allowed
Single Account Submission: Each participant must submit from one personal Instagram ID only
No multiple collaborations allowed
The reel must not be a collaboration with any other account
Plagiarized or reused content will be disqualified

Floral Symphony (Onam Pookkoalam)

To promote the traditional art of cultural heritage, creativity, and community participation, a Flower Design (Pookkalam) Competition is being organized online in celebration of Onam.

Competition Guidelines

Participants must take 4 photographs:
- One of the final Pookkalam design (top view)
- One while creating the Pookkalam (action shot)
- Two with the participants standing beside the finished design (with and without GPS)
Submit a 30–60 second video showcasing the making process
Submit entries via Google Form / Upload Link
File naming format: Name_Location (e.g., Anjali_Bangalore.jpg)
Post the entry on Instagram & tag our official Instagram account (screenshot to be uploaded)

Terms & Conditions

Only fresh flowers are allowed (no artificial flowers or powders)
The Pookkalam should be created on the floor
Entries not meeting submission format will be disqualified
The decision of the judges will be final and binding

Sadhya vattam (Onam Sadhya)

Host a creative, engaging, and culturally rich competition where participants present their Onam Sadhya online — honoring tradition, encouraging culinary skill, and strengthening community bonds.

Competition Guidelines

Participants must take 2 photographs:
- A high-quality photo of the final Sadhya setup — clear banana-leaf spread (with GPS)
- A high-quality photo of the final Sadhya setup (without GPS)
Submit a 30–60 second video showcasing the making process
Submit entries via Google Form / Upload Link
File naming format: Name_Location (e.g., Anjali_Bangalore.jpg)
Post the entry on Instagram & tag our official Instagram account (screenshot to be uploaded)

Traditional Sadhya should include 26–28 dishes such as Sambhar, Parippu Curry, Avial, Kaalan, Pachadi, Thoran, Olan, pickles, chips, payasams, etc.
