AJK College of Arts and Science Coimbatore (AJKCAS) shines as a symbol of educational excellence, holding the esteemed status of an autonomous institution with an A+ accreditation from NAAC. In a recent endeavour, the college orchestrated a transformative State Level Awareness Program on GOVERNMENT SCHOLARSHIPS in collaboration with the OBC/Minority Cell & SC/ST Cell on January 31, 2024. The program was spearheaded by Mrs. M. Brindha Ramakrishnan, BCA, MSW, a respected Case Worker at the Social Welfare Department of the District Collector Office, Coimbatore.

The program held at AJK College of Arts and Science Coimbatore (AJKCAS) served multiple purposes. Firstly, it aimed to raise awareness among students regarding the diverse government scholarships available through the Tamil Nadu government. Secondly, it sought to alleviate the financial burden of higher education by providing essential financial assistance to students. Additionally, the program aimed to bridge the educational gap for remote and rural area students by addressing communication and learning medium challenges.

The outcome of the program was profound. Students gained comprehensive knowledge about the multitude of government scholarships and financial aid schemes offered by the Tamil Nadu government. Moreover, Mrs. Brindha Ramakrishnan, as the resource person, introduced pivotal initiatives such as “Puthumai Pen Thittam” and “Child Marriage Banning Plan,” empowering students with critical insights into social welfare programs.

This initiative epitomizes AJKCAS’s commitment to fostering inclusive and accessible education, ensuring that every student has the opportunity to thrive.
