On October 10, 2024,AJK College of Arts and Science ,(Autonomous), an A+ accredited autonomous institution by NAAC, hosted its annual Literary Fest 2024 under the theme “Where Voices, Stories, and Ideas Come Together to Ignite Imagination and Inspire Change.” Organized by the Department of Languages – English, this event aimed to engage both undergraduate and postgraduate students in exploring their creativity and linguistic skills through a series of dynamic competitions and workshops.
The fest featured five unique competitions aimed at showcasing students’ talents. Participants in the Masked Personality event were assigned the persona of a famous figure and engaged in spontaneous interviews, promoting creativity and quick thinking. The Pros and Cons competition allowed contestants to debate various topics, demonstrating their critical thinking and articulation skills. In the Ad Making challenge, participants created advertisement posters using colure pencils within a limited timeframe, showcasing their marketing creativity. The Paint a Poem event invited contestants to interpret poetry visually, highlighting their artistic understanding. Lastly, the Extempore competition tested public speaking skills as participants delivered impromptu speeches on randomly assigned topics.
The primary purpose of the Literary Fest was to provide a platform for students to analyse and enhance their inherent creative abilities. The event successfully encouraged active participation, allowing students to sharpen skills ranging from visualization to critical analysis. Feedback from attendees indicated high levels of enthusiasm and engagement, with many seizing the opportunity to showcase their talents.
