On August 25, 2023, AJK College of Arts and Science Coimbatore (Autonomous) brightened the stage with their spectacular Onam festivities, bursting with colour and beloved customs. Principal Dr. S. Raju and the Nursing College Principal Dr. Brindha V provided the campus with energetic leadership, enabling the campus to come alive and pulsate with the energising spirit of Onam.

The event kicked off with an exhilarating procession, featuring kavadi bearers, chendamelam drummers, and vibrant band music, captivating the whole campus community. The heart of the celebration was the grand Thiruvathira, gracefully performed by a staggering two hundred participants. Traditional arts like Kathakali and Mohiniyattam, along with the iconic Mahabali and intricate mega pookkalam, injected artistic flair into the event.

As they danced, sang, and rocked the stage with their performances, the students’ enthusiasm was evident. A fascinating melodic dimension was created by the blending of the violin and chenda. When the exquisite Onam sadya, a feast for the senses, was served following the cultural festival, the celebrations achieved their pinnacle.

AJK College’s “PARANNONAM 2k23” was more than an event it was a kaleidoscope of traditions, creativity, and community. The college once again proved itself as an A+ accredited institution not just in name, but in the vibrancy it brings to life’s celebrations.
